Take a minute to think of all the good things that have come out of holyrood recently though and all the aspects of life that have been improved by state intervention.Looks like the wonderful scot gov have managed to push through something today, can't find out if it's an immediate ban or not. Some sort of licensing scheme apparently
A bit more detail?Looks like the wonderful scot gov have managed to push through something today, can't find out if it's an immediate ban or not. Some sort of licensing scheme apparently
I can't find much but it's hidden in this articleA bit more detail?
Crazy greens will be celebrating againThey really do hate people in the countryside
Seven (7!) green MSPs hold the balance of power. If our prime cut minister Hamsa Useless wants any legislation passed, be it the multi million agri support scheme (whatever that's debacle is to become), or which colour parliament bog paper they wipe their arses upon, he needs the lonely looney greens' supportCrazy greens will be celebrating again
Exactly this. But they donāt actually care, they just want to exert power over those who manage land. They are driven by envy and hatred. The irony is that by banning controlled burning on Peat land to protect it. The more likely it is to be destroyed in a large out of control wild fire. But hey ho toffs.
Itās all about equality in the eyes of the woke. So the opinion of a hill farmer carries as much weight as someone who drove through the area once and got sent a link to a consultation over Facebook. Everyone is a stakeholder.Exactly this. But they donāt actually care, they just want to exert power over those who manage land. They are driven by envy and hatred.
Even worseā¦.. āequityā, as perceived by women with pink/blue hair.Itās all about equality in the eyes of the woke. So the opinion of a hill farmer carries as much weight as someone who drove through the area once and got sent a link to a consultation over Facebook. Everyone is a stakeholder.
We put in for a turbine years ago, rural Angus. The objections came from as far away as London and the Isle of Wight. One very vociferous opponent who owned a bookshop in Edinburgh (hour and a halfās drive away) wrote emotionally of how a favourite walk would be ruined, however didnāt seem aware the route referenced had been impassable since the early 90ās.
They are on an environmental crusade and are convinced they know how to save the planet. As you say, old Heather will support no deer or sheep, so no insects attracted to their droppings, so no food for small birds, or birds of prey. Its not rocket science but is well above the intelligence levels of the likes of harvie and slaterSeven (7!) green MSPs hold the balance of power. Without muirburn, the Heather becomes old, rank, and soon dead from beatles. The whole ecology of the once beautiful purple hills is irrevocably altered. I'm really surprised the likes of the RSPB didn't vociferously object to this madness, for the effects of banning muirburn are well known
Presumably the victory of "dealing a blow" to the toffs who like to blooter grouse for sport outweighed the damage to wildlife and delicate fauna that will be caused by this muirburn ban madness?
I hope the idiots responsible for this ecological disaster in the making become cold and hungry, for only then is there hope they'll learn to appreciate our rural way of life
But during the wait for sense to prevail, I'd recommend not holding breath
Rewinding and net zero is the new religion for this lot, nothing else matters. What do these rockets think is going to happen to upland Scotland when there is no people left in rural areas?
Do they think that the landscape is going to stay as it is?
You should never let people from outwith your country become influential decision makers in your country, it never ends well.
Another nail in the coffin of the devolved government in Scotland, the end can't come soon enough.
Anti shooting and anti farming. Probably the end of sheep on the hill for me each autumn. Its mostly heather and without a decent bit burnt every year or 2 it will be pretty useless. Of course my mate said any fool can drop a matchIt's simple to understand.
Its simply anti shooting,
Rspb and greens, etc dont care about science or nature as long as shooting is stopped.
All data shows there is more wildlife on ground with shoots than not.
Bit they don't care.
Yep, anyone who's tried a beater in long heather knows the score thereJust wait some tourist will have a bbq and they wonāt be able to stop the fire!
