My Nuffield Scholarship Blog

I am finding your blog very informative and will be trying some mixed crops for sure next year.
The only drawback is it looks like I will have to invest in more silos augers and a grader to separate different seeds.

So @York is right after all, it is possible to buy a Cross Slot to run on less than 100 acres. And if the fan won't go round, there is still enough money to go out and buy a 750a as well!

Keep up the good work Andy, hopefully when you have finished, you will sort out all these good ideas and come up with a few things we can do successfully in our conditions.

I'm very impressed that your french is good enough to take on board all of those different concepts.

Is the idea that the spring peas and beans in the last picture will be killed chemically or by frosts? Will the soya beans be sufficiently short to allow the wheat to be harvested over the top of the beans?

Is soya a recently emerged crop in that area, or have they been doing it for a while?

I am a man of many skills. Google translate also helps when you get stuck for a word, anyone know what cover crop mix is in French without looking? I do now! Frost will kill all I think. In terms of soya not sure. They are trying to replicate relay cropping from the states.
