Name me a good new radio for tractor

I assume they are available over there too. Very good unit. Bluetooth is excellent on it, the noise cancellation works perfect even on noisy old tractors and land cruiser Utes.

Got rid of the Sonys, power hungry troublesome little things. Fitted a JVC, good radio but could never get to the DAB Station I wanted so it went too. Alpine seem to have a good tuner and easily navigated menu and are robust, Blue tooth handsfree comes with separate microphone. Currently have 6 of these fitted and none gave any bother. If you Google it or look on the website there is a version without the CD player, think it only takes up half the room too.

Thought that Blaupunkt made some good radios back then, what about the new ones ?

Blaupunkt are the ones to get for a tractor as they are more robust than other makes. I'm getting myself this one for Christmas for my Defender...https://www.autosound.co.uk/blaupunkt/single-din-radios/skagen-370-dab-bt-car-radio/

I've got Blaupunkts in my combine and in one tractor, the other tractor has got an Alpine and it is far too fiddly when you are on the move.

Remember the radio is only half the battle, you’ll need decent speakers for any noticeable difference.

Have to say, the set-up that came in our New Holland is excellent, brilliant sound quality and the Bluetooth hands free is better than most cars I’ve heard.

I think they stopped doing that in the late 90s
No they didn't. I fitted a new one in my then new tractor in 2009 and it does an amusing bleeping when the ignition is switched off.
Very good radio actually. No DAB or optical disk [CD, remember those?] but has got USB SD and a great remote control which is stuck conveniently by the spool valve levers. It was bought from Halfords at one of their genuine bank holiday sales. Not sure whether I paid more than £35 for it actually. The best radio in any of my tractors by a long shot and I paid over £100 for one of them that turned out to be nothing special and way inferior to the Sony.

We've kind of ended up with mostly Pioneer here nowadays. Cant really fault them for the money, good sound and hold signal well. No experience of the handsfree phone ones.
Buy a Mech Free one which has no moving parts eg CD, usually they are shorter so more room in the dash for wires behind the unit.
USB port is a must for me, stick in a pen drive with music on it, phones bluetoothing music to a unit usually sound tinny and thin.
Round here Dab is hit and miss but factor in a good few quid for a good quality Dab antenna, tried the cheap one that sticks on the window and bloody useless.
