Almost ready to start the outdoor lambers, just waiting on some gales and rain.
Only 2 Charollais ewes left to lamb in the shed, which look fairly imminent.
Twins and trips have about tidied up the bolted turnips @5312 .....

Singles are finding it very hard to scavenge any more 'bits'.....

A pleasant surprise was waiting in the ewe lambs, which must be at least 7 days premature.....

New take off ramp is in place between the singles' & twins' paddocks, after a bit of swapsies with @same crap different day , and a bit of diggering from @Kevtherev while he was here draining.....

And the surest sign of approaching lambing .... I've pulled a muscle in my back.:(

No, 'a' lake wouldn't be enough. We have two lakes, about 4ac a piece.:) It's part of what attracted me to the place in the first place, along with the old parkland trees. Unfortunately it attracts the local dog walkers too.

Please don't tell us you have lakes......but aren't partial to abit of fishin' ?

I was jealous enough of the ramp...... now you say you have lakes...... The one thing I wish my place had :( (well aside from a money tree :sneaky:)

Is that a pure highlander @neilo ? Do you have a highlander tup that you have to buy from innovis?

Is there any such thing as a 'pure' composite?:scratchhead:

Without reading her tag, it would either be a Highlander out of a NZ Texel (x Highlander), or a NZ Texel x Highlander. Probably the latter, as she's quite narrow and 'Lleyn like' IMO. Lamb would be by a Beltex.

I thought that when I wrote it, but you know what I mean. Do you breed replacements from your highlanders?

No fish thankfully (or we'd have every tw*t and his dog sitting at the bottom of the garden:mad:). Previous tenant told me that the remaining fish all died in the dry summer of 2010. The lakes fill from drainage off a couple of farms, so don't have much water coming in over the summer. In a drought, the water level drops a fair bit apparently, so the fish drowned. It must of longed a bit that summer.
