New car garage

I am looking to replace an old concrete block and rotten tin sheet roof garage with a bigger one to hold 4 cars. I am thinking of a steel portal frame mono pitch of 2 18 ft bays about 25ft deep. I am interested in auto garage doors but have never had anything to do with them. I will also run 3 phase cable from the nearby workshop for an electric car charging point which I am sure we will need in the future.
What else do I need to consider?
Is it worth using some form of insulated roof sheets?
Auto garage doors, what to avoid?

Is that wide enough? I think ours is 6m wide and it’s too tight for 2 cars
I looked online at double garage doors and the widest seem to be 16 ft wide. Current garage is 13'6" each side and used to get 2 cars in one side with one parked at a bit of an angle to allow the one on the right to get their door open. Only had a bit of machinery on the other side.

Know of one local that has underfloor heating, to keep the car storage temperature correct.
I had wondered about this as I am thinking of treating myself to something like a second hand Bentley continental GT in a couple of years . Not sure of the running costs (car and heating!) especially if my wife and daughters leave the doors open as is their habbit.

I don’t think running costs are a factor for the person I know.

My garage is 19 ft wide by 38 ft deep the Hormann double door is 17 feet wide automatic and can easily be opened if there is a power cut.
However it is now where near big enough.
There is a golden rule with garages, it needs to be just twice the size of what you have got😀😀😀

If you were to increase the bay size to 20' wide would you not have the option of fitting individual vehicle doors - 2x9'/bay?

You would still retain the wide open space within the garage for up to four vehicles or a "project" that could be kept behind its own door.

Electric roller door, could Possibly be made to any size? But certainly need a means of access in case of power cut. Insulation on walls and roof and heater to keep frost out.

As above electric roller door, separate personnel door, plenty of power/sockets, lights, put a good slope on the floor from back to front so when you drive in with snow packed under the wheel arches it melts off and runs out under the door.
You need plenty of room around the car when it's in too, so you can open the doors without hitting something and also open the bonnet to check oil etc. and get at the boot without having to open the roller door.

Fortunately flooding is not an issue where we are. I have spoken to the chap I use to do building jobs this morning and he told me to get the underfloor insulation bought quickly as it was going up in price this coming week.
I spoke to a couple of garage door companies this week and think I will be going with two 16ft roller section doors which are well insulated.

If you have a slope on the floor the vehicle will not be level for checking the oil . Just an observation 👍
