New Holland 8340 losing throttle

Hi all,
My 8340 has developed a problem today as I was driving along the road, it will completely lose all throttle and go back to ticking over and a few seconds later is perfect again, it did it 6 times in the space of a 10km journey,
Would anyone have ever come across this before? Not ideal time to be happening and a busy weekend of silage ahead

Fuel shortage or electrical fault?

Can you watch the button on the lift pump to see if it sucks in?
Muck can accumulate in the elbow before the pre cleaner bowl even if the bowl is clear.
Check the wire to the stop solenoid but it does sound like a throttle linkage issue.
Fuel stuff would stop it.

Fuel pipe, hoses, primer, filter and as stated debris in brass elbow on glass bowl, air will cause your symptoms.

That elbow is a pain with bits of straw.

And the rubber pipe reducer at the outlet at the bottom of the bottom tank. They perish with the diesel. Who would have thought?
Have you sorted the fuel leak you posted about in March?

No actually that is still there too it hasn't really bothered me as so little comes out,maybe that could have something to do with it now tooI'll start with the filter anyways tomorrow and go from there

Make sure the fuel pipe that goes over the transmission just behind the engine. Ours chafed, hardly leaked but drew air.
