Problems with second knot not tying , it might happen with all 4 at the same time , any ideas will be helpful ,new Holland d1010 , is there a set tension on bottom twine springs ?

If you have changed string you will probably need to adjust the twine disc tension, tighten half a turn at a time and only make one adjustment at a time. Thinner string will pull out before the bill hook has fully rotated it leaving a only a knot in the bottom string and slipping the top string.

Was working perfectly with twine that’s on it , then it decides to lose all 4 second knots , first four are ok .

Just looked at the baler and the string is Cortesi one is 7200 and the other is 7200+ , the + one looks thinner , as to twine disc tensioner all I can see is a long flat kind of spring, is it possible these might have cracked , and a flat spring type on billhook.

I'm using cotesi 8600, the nut I'm on about it being pointed to.

Yes I thought perhaps it was that one , I know that those springs do give in sometimes, I’ll tighten that nut as you suggested , won’t have anything to put through it for a while still growing down here in west Wales, many thanks for your advice much appreciated,
