New Holland "Transmission low pressure warning symbol" showing.

Hi

As per the title. I am after some advice from the knowledgeable people off the forum. Yesterday morning the Transmission low pressure warning symbol came on about 15 seconds after starting the tractor. I turned the tractor off and restarted and in never came back on. I used the tractor for a couple of hours hedge cutting and it seemed ok. The same thing happened this morning but i noticed when the light came on the steering wouldn't move. I turned the tractor off and restarted and the light stayed off. The steering seemed a bit noisy and heavy at first but when warm seemed ok. Ran a trailer up the road and it appeared ok. The tractor is a 2008 New Holland t6010 plus with a loader on. It has the 12x12 gearbox with the electronically controlled arms. I have noticed that the back end seems to get warm but not sure if that normal or not.

Any advice much appreciated

I have got it booked in to go to the local independent fitter on Thursday. From the research i have done I think it is the steering pump, possible seals gone so its sucking air up initially when the oil is thick. When it warms up a bit it seems ok. I think the pumps are around £400.

What model tractor is yours and what are the symptoms? Mine has done 5600hr and apart from the pto break its been pretty good.

I was hoping for someone on the forum to have experienced something similar to give me a clue.

Case maxxum 100 which is similar to 6010.On start up displayed low oil pressure symbol and no power steering .When I restarted tractor was fine. It has done this on two occasions ,both times when temperatures were very low.

If this is a x line version of the maxxum when temperatures are low there can be issues with the hydraulics. This is due to the fact that the pipe work for the hydraulic filters can cause restrictions. Pipe work can be modified to prevent this.
