Is it that bad you can flick it off with ya thumbnail like speedy ???
My 14yr old merlo isnt perfect paint wise but i can live with it.
surely latest kit is painted better ??
The paint on our forklift and loading shovel is very poor and as I say I have been at the dealer a few times and nothing. It is the black paint that just falls off it is not cleaned right before it is painted

ive been to JCB HQ & seen the loadalls being made, couldnt see the paint process as such but the main steel structures are left outside to rust !!!
Then shotblasted before being setup on jigs & most of that is Robot Welded.

Press the dealer for a resolution. I have had paintwork put right in the past by our dealer, obviously it has to be approved by JCB, but our dealer fitter is keen as mustard to get it sorted if we are not happy.
I don’t hold a lot of faith that our most recent machine will not need paint before the warranty is out....

Such a shame, because it lets down what is a very good product imo.

You can only bang your head against the wall so many times , sick or telling them about the paint

Yes I understand, very frustrating.

Letting themselves down once again by continuing to let these things happen though. Unfortunately I don’t think they have enough customers who care, the numbers manufactured daily are astounding, and most are heading to large fleets, who just see them as numbers on a piece of paper. Which unfortunately makes our voice even quieter. I had a chap from the factory out to inspect our latest machine, and his attitude was very refreshing. But on the whole, I don’t think the opinions of a few, makes much difference to the bigger picture at JCB.

As I said though, it’s a shame, as it’s taking the shine of what is actually a fantastic machine imo, our latest machine is an AgriPro, and that has impressed me immensely, despite it’s shortcomings in the fit-n-finish department.

I don’t really need to, the fitter at our dealer is fastidious about the machines. If they are not right, then he wants them to be right. I can’t ask fairer than that.

Is the cab air intake still at the back of the roof? most manufacturers insist on placing it there simply because it's easy.. Totally unacceptable with the exhaust right beside it, diesel fumes sucked straight into the cab.. That's most of the reason at the end of a day you feel rough and a dizzy head.. And of course it's probably knocking years of your life expectancy. When you watch a forklift or tractor at night in the dry, the dust and fumes swirling behind the cab is unreal. Most tractors have this problem, the only way to help this is keep the exhaust as high as possible and the air intake well down and forwards. designers would do much better if they had to sit in it for 12 hours..
The cab air intake is down the side of the cab on the JCB front right hand side down the side of the boom . The air con fans for the condenser are up the back of the cab

I’m no fan of jcb construction Equipment but own a 531/70. 55reg and apart from poor paint I can’t fault it.air con works well.seat is great as are the switches and controls.there is really nothing I’d improve apart from paint coming if wheels.the hour metre works occasionally and I allways write down hours and date so no worries there either.it will work just as well as a brand new one and being one of the last jcb engined machines with a mechanical pump there is no emissions stuff to go wrong either

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
