Looking at changing our current JCB for either the new model scorpion or a new JCB. Anybody got a new Liebherr made scorpion, had a demo but it wasn't quite the finished article. It was nice but not sure if it was nice enough to buy one!
Both are 3-4 months waiting time. So if your looking for a excellent 741 with low hours for age, in 3 months time ours maybe available!!

We have a new scorpion it is a preproduction model.only fault s have been a software problem. Even then it was still useable . It is a well made machine now on 500hrs in 6 months . The cab layout is fine once you get used to it. We find the visibility good.we have been told that a few mods on the way . As is to be expected as it was one of the first in the country.
The service and back up from claas eastern has been excellent with the previous scorpion and the new one.
Past experience of jcb and there dealers was poor.

It's all about the cost of ownership - so three years down the line will JCB still be the most sought after used TH? It is unfortunate that Class's history for TH is not up to the mark, but in three years time it could well be.

At the moment there's not a great difference in the buying price, both come with 0% finance, same spec etc. Like you said JCB hold there value but who says class won't be a good buy in 3-4 years time. Safe bet is the JCB!

New 541 agripro is a brilliant machine. Done nearly 2000 hours with ours in 18 months
The agripro gearbox looks to be a fine piece of engineering. The benefits of hydro for yard work with positive power shift drive for faster work. All JCB need is a new curved screen cab.

We are "all" Claas, except the telescopic handler. At the end of the day JCB are a great proven product made in this country and are in the top flight of handlers and diggers. Why go abroad when we produce 1st tier loaders. We want the public to by local when the local is at least as good if not better than the import. Although I digress a bit, the same goes for sprayers, the one sector of the agricultural machine manufacturing that we still have, that is truly world class and world leading and pioneering is the UKs sprayer makers.

When we traded our last scorpion in the trade in value of 6030 cp low spec compared to a526 £2000 it was similar on average against other makes . Not a great difference.the cost to change that matters ! The claas been cheaper than a jcb just but offering a better warranty package

I know where there are two jcbs parked up with electricial trouble under 4 yr old , and JCB are very slow to fix them . Three weeks down , a joke , but then that's how things work here .

Apparently the new cab is soon to be released to dealers so watch this space!

The biggest problem with the Claas is who will be building handlers for them in 5 years time? They are on their 4 manufacturer now who will be next?

It's all about perception, and Class TH are renown for poor used value and high depreciation, it's going to take many years to reverse this despite how unreliable JCB TH have become since 2013 T4i3B Series. The Liebherr company is a highly respected German company with a strong reputation of quality and reliability, but it could take 10 years or more to swing sentiment.
