Really wish I hadn't just read that, we're paying £4-£5 per dose for toxovax over here in the UK.

We really are having our pants pulled down!

Currently waiting for my £1k bill for 200 doses of toxovax for the ewe hoggs :shifty:
It may have been $195 for 100 toxo(n)
But I only have 32 hoggets  I wasn't paying that  so put the shout out for dregs (y)
40 doses for a box of Speight's.

But yes, us third world countries have all the luck when it comes to not being reamed.

Sorry waterbuffalofarmer It started out on topic. Back with prices tomorrow - for now I'll :censored:(y)

No keep going please! The thread is trending no.3, I have high ambitions ye know :D very interesting info on all other products mentioned tho. We don't Vax against toxo, although we have some cats on the holding, neighbours and one of our own. Haven't had anything happen just yet. I hear toxo is more prominent in younger cats/kittens more so than older cats, as cats get older they build more of an immunity to it...

One more, clostridia vaccine, Bravoxin 10 or Heptavac. Ta!
Maybe we should ask for a livestock input sticky?

As in, 5 in 1 for pulpy kidney, blackleg etc?
Selenised it's $70 +GST. Off top of my head.
7 in one for lepto is a bit more, cheaper to give cows a separate lepto prickle

Edit we don't have fancy diseases over here so can't quote on bravoxin 10 just yet ;)

For lambs or ewes Dave?

Ewes, in the process of changing everything over this autumn then just normal booster pre-lambing.

Would save a dose if I just did the full course before lambing (8 weeks &4 weeks pre lamb) but it's a right PITA that time of year.

Don't vac any lambs here, our main problem is pulpy kidney at 3-4wks old, which the ewe's jab covers via the colostrum

It can be but only one company making vaccine and they're taking the pee with the price IMO.
Do I have it right, that everything has to come through a vets in the UK- or am I just imagining that?

A guy up the valley has a bit of bother with pasturella I think he just gives them a jab of footrot fixer when he notices them -though I could be well wrong.

No most wormers and vaccines supplied by merchants. Some vaccines like toxo and enzo through Vets only as was zolvix.

What's the cost of Bravoxin10?

My ewes are on Covexin8 which is cheap as chips, but i had half considered the switch to give more cover

I paid 22p/dose for Bravoxin 10 in the Spring (Covexin was 8p IIRC), against 67p for a Hepatavac P booster.

My ewes are now on Bravoxin 10, with retained & long keep lambs getting Ovivac P. I will probably keep the ewe lambs on Ovivac P(not Heptavac) over their first lambing, and take a chance on having that small group (proportionally) uncovered against lamb dysentery, rather than do my usual 2 shots of Heptavac. Pedigree ewes are still on Heptavac, until I have seen if the change to Bravoxin has caused any issues.

We've been considering moving away from heptavac due to the cost. We've just bought in some gimmers which have been done with bravoxin 10, the farmer we bought from said that the pasteurella vaccine only covers ewes for 3 weeks? He's also seen a lot drop dead after having had heptavac when he was contract shepherding. I'm assuming ewes on the heptavac system will still need 2 doses of bravoxin rather than just a booster as it's a different vaccine.
