All I can add is that we have direct-drilling for 18/19 years and today we ploughed 17 acres... I will be burnt at the stake for this statement but if needs be...we do it
I thought you ploughed a bit every year?

You might be right! I just get fed up with people claiming to be messiahs/experts and being all over the press about how great their system is when on reality they have barely started and its all based on theory. Prove you can do it for 3 or 4 years like Clive has and earn the right! It doesn't have to be like that.....surely the more people that the pursue it the more that will be learnt and this will surely benefit everyone???
Maybe putting "zero till farmer" in your Twitter bio is a form of psychology or self motivation...... Along the lines of "I've just told the world I'm a no till farmer I had better get on and prove it or I'm going to look very silly"
How much angle on the discs?
As well as the diamter, the greater the angle the discs are set across the direction of travel then the greater the area of soil theyare trying to push sideways to create the slot.
Weavig GD disc is 410mmI wonder how big the Weaving disc is?

Interesting. Would love to get one into the field that stymied the Horsch to see what it can do.Weavig GD disc is 410mm

Think of a cross slot, but with a multi outlet tine set directly behind the disc rather than split either side. There are pictures of it on their website. About half way down this page is a picture. But out of context but has anyone managed to find anything about that CleanSeed Canadian drill and what the openers are like?

I will do if it can be arranged.
Why don't you try a Johnathan Deere in the field too, or does it not fit the colour scheme?
