As you have the plough stripped so far, remove the furrow beam and check it has not pulled down in the front leg fixing area, they are prone to this, and it makes any attempt at pitch adjustment pointless, we had the one in Don Williams high cut plough( now looking for a new owner) pressed straight by a local steam engine restorer.

Just built my self up a no9 made one hopefully good one out of two, both ploughs the furrow bean was bent down, but nothing a 50 ton press couldn’t sort.

First glance says a lot of good points from other Ransomes variants. Might well overwork the back of the furrow at the top in softer ground or hold the plough out in firmer going. Good luck trying.

Now thats just what you dont want to find, hope you had left he safety release hitch on! Oh and it should go without those weights as well, The late John Gwilliam told me with some heat that if they had needed to be heavier, they would have been made heavier, and he was one of Ransomes "Trouble shooters" for years.
I used a 15 RSLD( Ransomes self lift dual, for those interested) for many years, and I also had under beam clearance problems with the skim brackets, I fitted beam skimmers in the end. If you look closely at the beams, you will find two small holes, these are locations for two dowels which located a piece of half round bar, over which the beam skim bracket was clamped. This bar allowed the bracket and skim to be fitted at an angle if required.

I probably would have agreed with the man about weight on the plough back in the days before tramlines, 10 ton tractors and 20-25ton combines!
