Finally getting some time to build my new workshop. Thought I might post progress from start to finish….
Its going between two existing sheds and floor is already concreted.

Not the perfect shape but should be ok, about 24’ x 100’, planning to have a 40’ mezzanine at the back with storage, office/tea room and toilet up top. It’s a fabrication workshop so lots of nice equipment t,o go in.
Picked up a second hand shed a while ago, 40’ span so first job is to cut them down and weld new plates and cleats on.

Got half of them blasted and sprayed, hopefully get the frames in place this coming week.

Aston not mine and it’s not oak it’s cedar, but I do have lots of standing oak, that’s for the future though.
Some progress, had to uncover, jack up and drag this out of the way to get the back three frames in, only weighs about 9 tonnes…
Hopefully get rest of the purlins up tomorrow.

Question for those that know, can I fix a metal gutter to each stanchion or does it need to be able to move? The one metal one I have already looks like it’s fixed to the eaves beam under the cement sheets.
Mine have got a cleat welded to the stanchion, the gutter is bolted at the bottom to that, so can’t really see how it can move.

Who supplied your rollup, and did you design and fit it yourself?
Cheers, although I notice that the autoclave is still there; did it prove too difficult to shift?

Roller from P and K Shutters, you just tell them how you are going to fix it and they will come back with a diagram, you have to be fairly accurate especially if you have concrete panels sitting half way across the steel you are fixing the roller to.Fitting is straightforward enough, although having a loadall and scissor lift makes it much easier. I’m on my fifth one so I’m a bit quicker now. The autoclave is not mine, I need to give the owner a nudge as I’d rather it disappeared before harvest.
