Newholland d1010 density pump

Hi recently bought a 1997 new holland d1010 silage, it has had its density pump and reservoir removed and has been piped straight into the tractor. Now ive got to use it in the field ive realised that when piped into the tractor you have no real idea on the density of the bale.

So i want to put the pump back on, the problem is that thevold owner said the pump was warn out and wasn't getting constant density, but i cant find any mauals to know what pressure the pump should be making, ive read a bit obout these bailers and read that the electronic sensors are a common thing to play up on these balers.

I've heard that these balers read density on the plunger by a sensor on a top link type frame, on the top of the gearbox, well the previous owner said that he once had the bolt on the top of gearbox shear once, so would that have anything with the dogdy density readings?

It sounds like the load sensor may need setting up on top of the gearbox to start with. If a bolt on it broke its not just a matter of putting a new one in

Not 100% sure on a d1010 but on the later balers you watch the voltage for the load sensor on the control box and adjust the draw bolt on the load sensor until it is in the right voltage range.

So after getting a tester on the input from the amplifier i was only reading 1.43volts to i took the bolt out and greased it, as the manual said and wound it back in until it was 3.00 volts, i choose 3 volts because thats the middle of the scale so if i need more or less i can ajust accordingly.

So tomorrows job is getting the pump as reservoir back in. But ill get new filters for it first
