I have a leak from the fuel pump on my 7840. Can the fitting in the picture held in with the circlip be removed with upsetting some thing in the pump. I presume it's just an oring on the fitting.

I just looked at the parts list for that about an hour ago as I couldn't remember what is in there and have a 7840 to deal with next week with the same problem!
I do remember the same issue on my 8240 years ago and took the chance on removing the circlip and plunger carefully. There is a fine o ring on the plug and not having one at hand to suit, cleaned all with clutch and brake cleaner and applied a smear of siligasket to the plug and put it in again and let it set. Never leaked again so didn't bother with it.
The part number for the o ring is 514098 but whether CNH will supply it is questionable. You might want to be extra careful removing the plug as there are quite a few bits behind it but I don't recall any bits wanting to leave the pump of their own accord...

Number 43 for the o ring although number 40(pt no.122056) should possibly be replaced as well but I don't recall going in that far.
