NI / ROI border - again...

There is always at least 20 miles of channel as a border. Are you suggesting such a “no mans land” on the island of Ireland?

Ireland isn't part of Schengen .. so in theory illegals crossing by land can simply be handed back to Ireland to deal with .. their lack of enforcement.

Don’t you need a border to control it

You need a border to control 'a border', but clearly you don't need a border to control immigration or there would be no point in most of the EU or any of the Schengen group having immigration policies. (y)

Taking back control would suggest stopping the illegal things from happening. Otherwise it's just taking some control, a clever play on words of course.

From politicians, surely not...

Not at all.

What I mean is that there the figure was cooked up using models and comparisons that allow whatever conclusion you fancy.

It’s an educated estimate, which beats anything that folks on the forum can do, I’d wager. Haven’t yet seen a Brexiteer who’d claim we are better off already, so really it’s just a question of how much worse we are.

An educated estimate paid for by remainers.

Very possibly, although it’s quite a diverse range of major companies that finance it. But you do recognise it as educated, rather than a guess.

I read something a while ago suggesting that it would take at least thirty years post Brexit to get us back to where we were before this all started, financially. The source? A UKIP leader (I forget which one).

Which is a much better position both financially and socially than the UK was in 40 years ago.
Which works on the assumption that there would have been no 'progress' outside of the EU / EEC. By the way, the financial progress is inarguable, but you don't seem aware that social divides - particularly those based on money - are far, far greater now than when the UK joined the EU / EEC. (y)

It is all based on assumption because there isn't a comparison, just like if we sink or swim when we Brexit. If we do sink, Brexiteers will say we were doomed anyway, and remainers will say Brexit caused it.
If we do well, Brexiteers will say Brexit saved the day, remainers will say we were going to thrive anyway.

Most people believe what they want to or are told they should, very few are open minded and capable of coming up with ideas of their own.

you do know that money isn't everything don't you, its all you seem to talk about
when I can remember first folk use to talk about millionaires like they had all the money they could wish for and there wasn't many about really now you seem to need a billion to be classed the same
anyway you keep chasing it down there as far away from the eu as you can get, I hope it makes you happy (y)
