Aspen can be a nightmare for roots so dont plant near roads tracks or where you may want to plough!Cherry. Doesnt get too tall, blossoms and has good canopy.
Small leaved lime as an almost like to like with Elm
Hornbeam
An avenue of Aspen makes for interest if the wind is blowing
No such thing as a lovely gorse bush is thereSome lovely gorse bushes
No they're awful, my dad would throttle me if I planted themNo such thing as a lovely gorse bush is there
At least some heat lovers - climate change will lead to significantly warmer summers & winters in 80 years time so future proof your plantings:
Turkish hazel - a great tree
Corsican pine
Holm oak
Cedar of Lebanon
Zelkova
