Nipple drinkers

Will lambs/hoggs/ewes drink from nipple drinkers? Always have trouble with dirty water In traditional water troughs. We have some old pig sheds we can put lambs in that have nipple drinkers already installed and interested to know if anyone has tried them before? Cheers

Some of them will, but the rest die unless you have tanks

We had an old pig shed where some used the drinkers but troughs were much more popular for most of them.

Small troughs keep cleaner.

Not sure. We don't sell any for sheep applications as requested but the Continental wagon deckers have a vertical bar type nipple drinker for their long distance transporters

On the export trucks as JP1 said the nipple vertical bar type could be set to drip and the theory was that the lambs would learn to drink from them. I am not sure how many ever did! It would also make the floors very mucky.

perhaps a system like @Gator has got in his lambing pens, a piece of pipe with a gap cut in it and cap on the end that can unscrew and drain any dirty water away into a bucket.
