before I ended up signed up to the protection racket, used to be able sell ok, but at a small discount. A lot went to pheasant shoots (it’s amazing how much some large shoots use) some went farm to farm and some went export depending what boats were in.

I reckon that happens alot.............. some farmers must be selling 20 tonnes an acre !!

No different than the magic lorry that some merchants use........

Used to happen a lot, however now the crop assurance Trading title gets checked against contract title, unless they match its non assured. That's not to say people won't get their mate to trade it under their own trading title and pay them back, however once again it will mean tightening of regulations when people get caught and it punishes those playing with a straight bat.

Roquette used to be the home, however they are now closed.

It is increasingly hard to place non assured grain when not exporting, but not impossible.

As has been inferred previously does the poor starving African child given a bowl of rice ask for its provenance?

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
