Non-parallel tractor loaders?

I'm sure it must be something obvious but what is the difference between parallel and non-parallel front end loader?
The non-parallel loaders seem to have a higher lift capacity compared to what I assume is the standard parallel loaders.
I'm thinking the non-parallel loaders must be narrower at the pivot point than at the bucket but how that helps increase load capacity I'm not sure.

Pros and cons ?

Used to have a self levelling one. It was a handy feature I will admit, but we changed it in a hurry for a non self levelling one because the tractor was turning into a money pit and the deal was right.

I have to admit I haven't missed it as much as I thought I might. But we also have another non self levelling as well, so I suppose I was never really out of the non S-L habit

That probably makes it clear as mud for the OP :)

Loading grain there is no way I’d want to be without a self leveller.

That said, joystick control will have helped too compared to the old style three lever design.

Aww ok I was just looking at Massey's loaders not sure who makes them but it would appear the non-parallel loader can lift 700kg more than the parallel model. Which seems to be the opposite of MX loaders which made me think perhaps it was something else rather than just self leveling....

Most of my loaders are currently non self leveling which is fine as long as you've got a joystick and you can work two valves at the same time...

Pretty sure Massey loaders used to be Quickie. I would think based on a quick glance that they still are.

Looking at the Quickie website:

I think MX are unique in how they work their self levelling with oil whereas others use a linkage, would that also make MX unique in having extra lift capacity with self levelling models? They are the only ones I’ve ever heard advertising it as a feature

MX loaders have hydraulic self levelling which actually increases the lift capacity because cleverly the levelling rams contribute too.
It's only an advantage over mechanical leveling if you hold the crowd stalled while lifting.. leveling loaders lift the load less height so therefore have more power. Effectively lower geared..
