Non return gate in cattle race

Is anyone using a non return gate in their cattle handling race? I’m sure Pearson do a drop down one that the cattle push up with their head and back and once past it drops behind them so they can’t reverse. Are they a success? Do cattle go underneath them ok? Tia

Ours has a anti-back device like you described. It's height is adjustable via chain links, and it hangs on a spring so it doesn't bang down after they pass it.

The cattle have no problem going under it. We have ours mounted one cow-length behind the crush.

Is it a home made one or bought? Looking for some ideas.

Just making one at the moment to try and keep cattle up near the crush when working on my own. Still in the prototype stages. Going to make a strap to hold it up and adjust for different size cattle.
