What's all this about using a calving aid.
You need to breed cows that calve themselves. I couldn't tell you where mine is at! :ROFLMAO:

You'd better find it now you've said that! You'll need it soon.

Would think calving assistance here is probably 3-5%. Don't think I've had the aid in my hand this calendar year so far though. Depends how many twins come along.

Must go and look up my red tractor records for the figure.:censored:

Will this influence our price, spot has jumped

Down south we were told not to take any notice of gdt, that it was irrelevant and that it was ppi that we should look at. Now that that's higher by a cent than milk price it doesn't get brought up any more by the co-ops

As the saying goes, call me what you want just don't call me early in the morning.
Regarding things Irish,I'm very disappointed with the lack of opposition from all Lakeland producers who are of a nationalist position to their forced recruitment to the BRITISH Red tractor scheme. A scheme which has for it's symbol a tractor bearing the flag of the oppressor of the occupied six counties.
While I may not share their political outlook I will support them if any would wish to try to stop Lakeland's insult on their nationalist identity.
My opposition has got absolutely nothing to do with the predicted bollocking I'm going to get from some young blade about having calf pens made from pallets and baler twine, cobwebs in the parlour and cat sh!t under the bulk tank!
Apparently they're very strict about where your cat can Pooh.
Willy it does not matter what the symbol is the pain in the ass is the same . Lakeland are really big into quality assuarance and implement with all stick and no carrot approach . Their latest wheeze is trying to force everyone off chlorine based detergent even if you are passing the residue test . The new non chlorine wash program is more expensive ,more acid washes and paracetic acid in final rinse and not nearly as effective as the old routine . Of course the penalities for higher tbc are as severe as ever !!

Appointment card for Red Tractor landed yesterday. Does any one know if you still have to do separate herd health plans for both FQAS and Red Tractor or will one cover both.
