Just got a chance to read the contact for the fixed price, and feeling right and scundered that I'm probably going to sign in for 20%. No bonus and loyalty takes the shine of it.

Cant help but think theres far too many of us heavily committed to this job to ever receive much more for any length of time.

You mean to say that our various processors don't have the best interests of us, as primary producers, at heart? Do you think they are looking to feather their own nests at our expense? I'm shocked!!

Probably true to a certain extent, but if you as an individual haven't signed up for the fixed price deal you'll end up with 100% of your milk at the lower price.

Which is why as a cooperative it shouldn't be optional. If df think its good for their business to fix forward then a % of every members milk should be fixed and the best possible price delivered to everyone.

Or will it be a lower price when you take off loyalty bonus and winter bonus. If you believe rumour mill milk price in general will be quite favourable this year.

The processors and supermarkets will have done their sums, there will be little difference between the average 3 year price and the contract price. Cutting back production is the only thing that will raise the price, that's the carrot.

I haven’t and haven’t lost sleep over it . As a small producer the volumes are nothing to make you want to legally promise to produce milk for another 3 years at those quantities in those months.
