Just thinking there today, we should all get a doubled up milk price for Christmas Day’s production. Which in turn made me feel greedy & think we should all get it for all holidays..

Good luck with that chief. If we were on a price with starting with 3 I'd give them the Christmas milk for the lifting. How short a day can get away with, with the robots milking stuart?

An hour on crimbo morning, late cows, hose down, bed cubicles, will have enough silage on Tuesday so just a quick run with the silage pusher (graip), hopefully less time in the evening.................. unless I get the traditional Christmas day breakdown.

If I’m on my own I can be in the house for 9.30am. But there’s no hanging around at that, it’s a tight shift. Then 1 hour in the evening.

Guys, don't want to burst the bubble - season of hope and all that - but if we leave the EU, we no longer pay in, so we no longer take out. We will just be following their rules so we can continue to sell across the border. It's a worse deal than Mays deal.

Christmas wouldn’t be the same without a problem or two !!

Cow stuck in a cubicle.

Cow down lying on the arm in the robot/down in the pit.

Cow bulling slips and breaks the stifle joint = go get gun.

Cows bust a feed rail open, 60 cows running around and have the yard half wrecked.

Yard trip off. Spend half an hour running around trying to isolate the cause.

An old single slat from 1965 has broken and dropped in. The discovery scraper is sitting bridged in the cavity. Hoist it out with loader, then hoak in the briars for a replacement slat.

The seal in the volume hose pump has gone, letting water into the motor. Can't wash anything down basically until Monday 30th.

Flat wheel on the loader.

Burst oil pipe on the loader.

Nut auger breaks.

Or a -18c frost and water stops everywhere, loader tractor doesnt start in the cold conditions. Have also seen many a boxing day storm where the powers off and your trying to stop half the roofs from going into orbit.
