Just looking at the pictures of machinery, cubicles etc for sale the place looks quite rough. Too big and struggling? Not judging,I don't know full story.

Milked 800 cows at one point. Son run it into the ground, badly. He’s had enough so he’s getting out. Rough would be a understatement, dangerous would suit better.

Happy at it

I'd like to know where you are all getting this £50K from?

Dont think the government really knows that either., very strange times. Take it your not applying then? Hadnt considered it either until speaking to accountant, 2 days later it was in the bank so its not hard to sort. Better looking at it as for it I guess and will cut interest for a year if nothing else.....

Big problem is 50k doesn't buy much farm machinery

Do you save interest paying hp early or do you end up paying interest in advance?
Depends on your loan but cleared a loan I only had out 3 months with no penalty or added interest. As for 50 k not buying much machinery. Both my loader and 1 tractor combined are worth far less than that but do the job for me.

I'm not clear what you are referring to. Would you mind being more specific?
Don't think I've heard about it.

He's talking about the Corona bounce back loan, up to £50k for 6 years. 1st year interest free then fixed at 2.5%. it'll save at least £2500 over the term unless you can get an exceptionally good deal from your bank.

Just cut it. The scanners are really only a guide, 2 parts of the field can give 2 completely different results. If the weather spell is there don’t miss it, some amount of wet 2nd cut made today.
n Antrim had a dry day. Good for silage making. Unfortunately n too high so waiting. Had this problem with silage in 2002. Rubbish silage makes a long winter
No, how do they work? Talking to a man in Fane Valley today, his grass is high in N too seems to be a pattern in this area
It's a hand held device. Sowed 2.4 of can. Its the golden rule for 2nd cut , not this year

I claimed the self employed grant. Checked with accountant, all I need is letter from buyer saying milk price down because of covid. DF sent one to their producers.
Only problem is grant is given at 80% of profit for 3 months averaged over past three years. According to accountant, some dairy farmers are making nowt.80%×0=0
