New kit is just for very large farmers and contractors. I am not sure where the future lies for small to medium farmers when the second hand kit is way too big and the electronics have become unreliable

One trouble with shows is that companies tend to put their best and biggest and most most expensive kit on show to show off their capabilities, giving the impression that is all that is available and in demand.

I hardly bother looking at new machinery nowadays as im unlikely to be in the market for any even if we doubled our acerage or had a major shift in technique , if we use a contractor its up to him what gear he has, all im really interested in is service, timeliness, efficiency, and cost, and on that ive found the contractors with the biggest most expensive gear arnt that good on what matters to me
