Getting fed up reading the nearly finished thread, must be great to farm in England. The remnants of Hurricane Bertha decided to sit on us for 2 days last weekend flattening the remaining wheat that was standing, not cut anything below 20% yet.130 acs s barley left mostly flat + 100acs wheat also flat and forecast not great for this week either. What we have in the shed is worth v little and is costing a fortune to dry so can't feel to sorry for the Englishmen that can't get there wheat below 17%:cry:Rant over

400ac wheat, 80ac linseed, 35ac spring oats.

No drier, so cant cut any above 16%.

On paper I can do the lot in 5 days. But not had a day with more than 5 hours cutting in it in any cereal crop so far.

its alright get your independence, then we can put a rope around scotland and drag you out into the atlantic and you can choose your destination.
well England will be fecked as it is most likely to loose g8 status and its seat on the security council.all in all it will become a pip squeak country.

Still all spring barley and oats to cut with barley nearly ready but oats still at least 10 days. Cut 2 fields of wheat but rest still a while away. This weather is frustrating. Feels strange that we will soon have been combining a month yet it's still only the middle of August.

Still got near 300 acres of wheat to cut and the last 30 acres of ryegrass mowed ready to combine but just as it looks like it'll go we get a heavy shower and everything is on hold again. Getting frustrating now.

Maybe we won't waste all our money trying to police the world and fighting every so called war going.
I'd rather be Sweden.

After a wedding in Somerset on Saturday we came back Sunday via Frome - Cirencester - Stow - Warwick - M42. Only saw 1 combine working late afternoon, but massive areas of wheat, beans, ?s.barley not cut so not everyone is contributing to the other thread..

I'd rather we spent more money on schools, hospitals et al, than always rushing off to the Middle East to sort everyone out. Look what good getting rid of Saddam has done us.
All the PM s are on power trips to see who can be the USA s best mate.
I don't believe in appeasement , but why stick our nose in everyone else's business.
