Old silage bunker was rotted out, couldn't get exactly what I wanted so decided to make it myself.
Made with thick plate so hopefully it will last. Cheaper than buying too as I work for free!!

Think of it as more of a helpful hint, and friendly advice from a fabricators eye, rather than a bollocking.

Not sure whether this should have started in the Wreckers thread. We have a Herbert potato hopper adapted to feed maize & beet into the AD. The weekend before Christmas the bed chain decided to self destruct, twisting the 60mm drive shaft and smashing a cast sprocket. Note one link plate embedded into box section.
Decided something stronger was needed, so fitted a 6 mm Hardox floor, 3mm mild steel side extensions and a Bunning 20 mm muckspreader chain

No offence taken at all.
I did miss one or two and to be honest it meant dragging the welder out again so didn't bother. It'll be rotted out before the welds let go anyway.
I never study pics in that much detail.

New spreader so decided to upgrade the storage from the pile of pellets screwed together that served well for many years but was a bit nerve wracking if you wanted to move it on the pallet forks.

I made strong wooden frames on casters, on a nice smooth floor you can push it well out the way to store and then bring it to the tractor to hitch on.

Me too, used some old 9x3s from a fallen roof, a few bolts and some stops to keep it on, can be wheeled around a shed or picked up with forks. makes a great job of it.
