Not sure whether this should have started in the Wreckers thread. We have a Herbert potato hopper adapted to feed maize & beet into the AD. The weekend before Christmas the bed chain decided to self destruct, twisting the 60mm drive shaft and smashing a cast sprocket. Note one link plate embedded into box section.

Decided something stronger was needed, so fitted a 6 mm Hardox floor, 3mm mild steel side extensions and a Bunning 20 mm muckspreader chain

I made strong wooden frames on casters, on a nice smooth floor you can push it well out the way to store and then bring it to the tractor to hitch on.


Me too, used some old 9x3s from a fallen roof, a few bolts and some stops to keep it on, can be wheeled around a shed or picked up with forks. makes a great job of it.
