Oats at lambing 3in1

I run about 100 in a single mob normally (sometimes more), but they are in an old cattle yard with a raised feed manger through the middle that allows me to stand and chuck it out with a bucket.

We used to run 350 in a mob at home, letting them out into a yard so that we could run rolls round the outside of the shed, then let them back in twice a day. I never saw mob size as any problem particularly.

Your lucky to have your raised feeder that must make life easier!

I can't run my sheep in and out, just not practical here. So I have to fight then whilst I feed. And twice a day just wouldn't be practical for me. I'm on my own so if I can get the 3in1s working, i can be doing other jobs while the sheep feed themselves!

Why is 100 too many? If the shed is big enough and plenty of feed space what's the issue?
I know that's the point that's what I'm trying to resolve?
As they get heavy in lamb , it's easier on sheep and shepherd to feed smaller groups, thats especially relivant to indoors and when they lamb its asking for mix ups etc the bigger the group shut indoors.
Doesnt take long to feed twice a day, gives you a chance to see who's feeding and who's not etc, which is very relivant to your OP, re 3 in 1 feeders.
Spend money on some hurdles for shed division drinkers and a good complete ration, all in. Dont need to spend then on licks blocks or whatever.
And maybe an extra ring feeder or 2.

Happy days. :unsure::)

How will you be providing the DUP In last three weeks of pregnancy?

In the later stages of pregnancy, the digestive system is such that more of the total protein goes through into the abomasum and further into the digestive tract, automatically increasing the proportion of bi-pass protein.
