No servo to apply pressure to the pads, better with shoes at least they would self assist into the drum.
Think the rail would block and leave the cam running dry .........
Servos were available,on the bulkhead, between pedal and master cyl as I remember. Rail got the blame, real problem was thinking that if you threw oil at one side of a rotating shaft, the cam, some would still be there half a turn later! If oil had been directed into the follower/cam lobe contact area, things would have been better

Well I thought that was a miss print (glass half full) but it appears he was "just testing the water "
4 wheel drive and the 5 cylinder 2.2 so it has potential, not much but some .............
Why lads go mad on a Saturday afternoon pulling out the interior of a perfectly good driving car I'll never know.

I was thinking round the £4 to £500?
But left him dreaming ..............

I assumed it was a misprint. Looks like the sort of old crate you would have to pay the scrappy to lift. Might understand it (just) for a proper Audi Quattro in reasonable condition.

If your thinking about the A frame rear suspension, as I recall, that was standard fit, until they discovered that the bolts holding it to the diff were not up to the task.

A bracket rear suspension Mk 1 Lotus Cortina were available for the road.
The apprentice at our workshop wrapped his around a tree on Muswell Hill back in the day.
Thankfully he was OK

And the Rover engineers who sorted out all the engines problems!(well, most of them).Buick were unable to make the cast in, ribbed liner block work, scrapping more than were good, pressed in liners cured that. Cam shaft and followers remained a weak point, but nickel plating the rocker shaft slowed the rapid wear there. Shafts lasted less than 40,000 to start with, Buick couldnt believe we expected much more mileage from engines over here, they expected cars in the states to be scrapped at about 30.000!
This engine also powered the Brabham/Repco F1 car.
Son has a nice 4.2 that he is planning to fit to our old Diahatsu HiJet fridge van. I won't be a passenger in that, we flipped it once with the old 1.0 engine. May be nice as a traffic light WTF though.
On another note my retirement project is a Hayabusa engine and box into a nice standard looking Austin mini and a never ending supply of tyres.

Was in a Independent Volvo dealer yesterday looking at XC70s . In the showroom they had a rather nice , One of the nicest I've seen Fiesta Supersport in Black.

There's supposedly a Barn full of very Early Jeep stuff in Cheshire somewhere I'd like to have a nosey at.

Here I am with my Lotus Cortina in 1969. I bought it when it was 18 months old, for £675 in 1966. It had the standard rear suspension along with steel boot and bonnet lids. I think that the aluminium lids were dropped at the same time as the A frame.
The first owner had the normal green side stripes and rear panel painted gold and the roof

covered in vinyl. It went like rocket. I sold it when my first child came along. The new owner wrote it off.
