One for Claas baler drivers

I have a Claas Rollant 374rc which so far has been fairly trouble free apart from the bill hook(not sure if that's the right word) sticking up and not resetting when the tailgate is opened. I've tried adjusting the Allen screw on the actuator in a bit tighter for more pressure but it still sticks and doesn't reset the knife occasionally. Does the bill hook ever require replacing or would my idea of giving it a good dose of wd40 silicone where it hinges help?

Yes, lubricate the joints/hinges/pivot points. Wee bit diesel is good for it as it penetrates.

Right thanks will try that next season just thought lubricant would make dust and chaff stick but will give it a go

You will get dust stick but we all need some lubricant at times, same as the drop knife on the MC hale.

They do wear, but different problem, the hook will run to the end of it's travel but won't trip, the track wears (some wear showing in pic) then the end bit hits the wee plastic wheel & it stops it traveling.
Often thought if a bit was cut off the end it would work again but never tried, just changed them, would get a couple of years out of them, bit of a fiddly job too.

McHale use the same setup but it doesn't wear enough to need replacing.

Just flick the door again if it sticks

The door has to be opened fully to properly activate the reset,
also If it’s getting worn, the door needs to open fully with a little bit of oomph.
