These models do suffer from the rams wearing in the middle so even a new seal kit doesn't solve the problemDrew farmin life on YouTube changed the orbital on a t7, but that made no difference and the other days blog he was on putting 2 new steering rams on. Haven’t found out if it has cured the problem though.
The key thing to remember is they must be timed correctly or you end up with a hyd motor
Yea i have done them up before mainly seals but imwondering is the bottom oscilating gear worn and letting oil by it same as a hyd motor gets wornThey are not that bad to do, believe it or not.
However, from memory warm hands are your enemy as the main valve sleeves are so well machined, a slight temp differential is enough for them not to slide together.
I think a special tool is needed to fit the leaf springs ?

My money's on the leaf springs. If you turn the steering about one inch and let go, and constantly do that, you should be able to turn the steering wheel without the wheels moving.Yea i have done them up before mainly seals but imwondering is the bottom oscilating gear worn and letting oil by it same as a hyd motor gets worn

You can buy a service kit that includes seals, gaskets, leaf springs and if I remember rightly a needle roller bearing ?
