Organic Hemp

Good afternoon,

I will start by stating I am a complete novice when it comes to farming matters, so please go easy on me!

My nephew was recently diagnosed with MND at 31 years old, he uses CBD oil which alleviates some of his symptoms and helps him sleep at night.
Because of his condition he has been advised to use only organic oil which can be quite difficult to source, I am looking into the logistics of renting a couple of acres of land and growing organic hemp myself. As I say I am a complete novice when it comes to farming so any advice any of you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

It'll be a nightmare.
Gets taken over by fat hen and other weeds very quickly.

We've had a go at growing some for a customer, wasn't worth the diesel to combine it.

Hemp has had all the good bits taken out.

In any case you’d need to have a Home Office license to cultivate it never minding the ne’r do wells who would do the harvesting for you ... FoC

Would get a second opinion on MND as if your in a rural area the symptoms are very similar to Lead poisioning. Next door neighbor who we bought the farm off youngest son died alledgedly of MND but forgot to mention there water supply included 100 mtrs of lead piping. Fortunately we went straight onto spring water so have not beem affected.

Hemp still produces CBD oil, despite it not being the same stuff as the drug dealers grow. The seeds are crushed for the oil.

Not enough to give you any sort of high/relief though. Didn’t stop the local boyos from trying when i grew a crop

Its' becoming a major crop in my locale, several thousands of acres grown this year, specialist companies that manufacture the harvesting equipment and processing machinery are becoming established.
The best looking crops were planted under plastic, they grew quicker and weed control was much better, regular field establishment seemed to work well but weed control was expensive, as no chemical weed control is approved all weed removal was by large gangs hand weeding.

I know someone who grew some as a trial, and was very confused why it never grew in gateways, must be compaction or where the muck was tipped or something.

If you want to grow something for homemade CBD oil just google weed seeds online..... weirdly the seeds are legal And there’s ratings and reviews

There's a difference between CBD and THC. CBD is non-psychoactive, but still has many medicinal properties, and can be extracted from hempseed. THC is the main psychoactive component of marijuana.
