Land Rover has given Bowler Motors, part of its Special Vehicle Operations division, permission to use the original Defender shape for high-performance vehicles. They will be 575bhp monsters and cost a lot!.

Yup but it’s a cross country racer pedigree. Had a long chat with the owner of a Bowler racer in Devon many years ago. What a beast! I think the Simmonite sisters used to race one. Weren’t they farmers daughters?

Yes they did and were very successful I seem to recall, that seems like a very long time ago now though!
