always seems to be the larva here that are the problems, the beatles munch through the coteledons but its the larva that actually bugger the crop
we haven't used an insectidide in about the same, still have flea beetles and as many slugs as ever

slugs no longer a big issue here and i put a lot of that down to benificials , but clearly we do still have flea beetles !
they are different, beetle and weevil larva but it was CSFB larva hereis that csfb larva or stem larva - not sure they are the same best exactly ?

Beet 8 weeksExactly- how long do neonics persist in order to protect the plants later on? I always reckoned they were good for 6 weeks.
Does that fit with seed mafia policy?my declaration will be completed in spring - i will pay per ha on what i have in the ground on that day
could it be the no-till more than lack of insecticides??slugs no longer a big issue here and i put a lot of that down to benificials , but clearly we do still have flea beetles !
Are you forecast rain anytime soon?sprayed the area that hasn’t been redrilled with graminicide today - it’s looking ok and seems to be growing faster than csfb ate eating it at the moment - thankfully this is the bulk of the area
Does that fit with seed mafia policy?
Thing is....they do watch here.f**k em. Pay once fair and square for a grown crop, dont pay over and over again.
It's fine. We are all anonymous, just names on a screen. No one really knows who Clive is.......Thing is....they do watch here.

Does anyone actually think spraying them makes any difference? I’m beginning to wonder myself.
You are right it doesn’t. It’s a complete and utter waste of time and they are throwing nasty chemicals around giving the industry a bad name.
Sorry, I must have misunderstood. Your post read like you payed royalties in spring based on established area, when my reading of the bspb rules implies you should pay on drilled area.as long as your paying on area and not weight I believe so yes - i’ve always paid on area and we do declare everything, royalties are important to secure future varieties so i’m not trying to avoid paying my FAIR share ever
(and i know the seed police read these pages !)
Ask them why we're still paying royalties on outdated varieties ?(and i know the seed police read these pages !)
