About 300 sows per person if all progeny off at weaning is pushing it. 250 is bit easier, I prefer to be a bit overstaffed to cover for holidays and illness. It also depends what help is available for site moving and straw carting. A one person unit is very difficult, i've been there.

I am glad that I am having a week or two off for medical reasons but I did stump down there and everything looks ok but damp between sheds.

There's a very large outdoor setup probably not too far from you (at Berwick) that stocks permanently at 4 sows per acre, whereas most of us would be at about 10 per acre and move every two years.
