P7e trailer problems

Location
Norfolk
I purchased an Ifor Williams p7e trailer 6 months ago to cart my quad and rappa trailer around. I spoke to the local dealer, who said he has sold loads of these trailers for moving quads
Anyway, after 2 new tyres after 3 months, and the mudguards ripping out the side plates after 6 months, the cheap tinny spare wheel holder snaping off and most the rivets in the back ramp splitting out I thought I better ring the dealer
Anyway, the reply from Ifor Williams is, there is a problem with the mud guard brackets and they would supply it for me to fit. Great but why wasn't it fitted in the first place! To fit the upgrade would take several hours, including taking the floor out.
I can't believe that Ifor Williams are selling such shoddy trailers, I for one will not be buying another. The quality of it is terrible. I would have been better to buy a cheap Chinese version

I fear they aren`t what they used to be - from looking at the livestock trailers we`ve had I get the impression they aren`t bothered if components can do the job as long as they look as though they can (those stupid bits of perishing rubber "straps" that are supposed to hold gates on the outside of the trailer are a prime example).. And whose idea was it to make the bearers for the decks "hollow" so they collect cr*p and shavings, etc ? The bearers used to be a box that wouldn`t collect any undesirables. Very sad! What was the best trailer is soon going to be overtaken by the others.....

You should have bought one off rappa. Ifor are shite now.

Ifor have been getting progressively more shite for decades, with more and more people realising it over time. It will bite them on the arse once enough potential buyers have opened their eyes…

As to the OP, unfortunately most of those small trailers are built down to a price these days, with budget tyres, etc.
CLH make a popular and well built trailer in that size, but the tyres are cheap and nasty even on those.

We have had a CLH trailer for years. Best piece of kit we have. We have however put new tyres on it. The trailer has taken an awful amount of stick from us and seems to be holding up pretty well. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Ifor on the other hand are getting shoddy. People still buy them because they think the name sells BUT the build quality is shocking. We have a slightly older 10ft and its probably of the last decent generation of quality. A dairy farm i work at bought a new 14ft, they have had it about a year or so and the floor is jiggered, door catches are jiggered, vent flaps are jiggered.............need i say more?

Have you taken any land out of production from last autumn?
