398 must be 20 years old so not done to bad, as good as some green paint i have seen or even blue!
much prefer looking at a red bonnet all day than a green one
e reg 1988 so 25 years old, the red paint is very fadded n some rust, dad has a 1982? x reg 690, the red is still shining, just a shame the cab is so rotten
Yes I have known many 600 series cabs fall apart, shame as was a good tractor.
theres your answer swap the bonnet off the 690 onto the 398!! if they fit?
they might just fit n that would be a good idea, except cant see dad being too happy about it, they both good tractors but 398 is the best
Or the injectors and have to suffer the excessive fuel usage.no thanks, i dont want to have to change head gasket !
ive heard of people putting varnish with it, never tried it myself, always wondered if it would react with the paint/thinners and make it curdle?
too much shine looks wrong on an old machine imo, id rather have a deep, lustre finish with plenty of colour to it than a thin highly shiney finish what wont stand up to as much wear and tear
