Panorama

Well, that comment makes no sense at all. I'm presuming it's some sort of veiled insult, because you don't like the information I've provided. Which incidentally I had no intention of even getting into, but I don't like to see others posting misinformation unchallenged.

Thank you to those that have actually engaged honestly instead of taking out your temper about the program (which I had nothing to do with) and the issues it raises (which unfortunately you are going to have to deal with regardless) on me.
calm down, i wish people would quote all the facts and not cherry pick to suit there agenda. as in the whole soya and palm claims regaurding animal feeds . the program last night cherry picked worst cases not the norm!

It appears our prolific new member who joined at 08.19 this morning has packed up gone home at 15.50 Probably working flexi time and left early to catch the tube. Likely is being paid to join a farming forum and see what can be stirred up.
He /she/they probably have enough copy for a Guardian article, another piece on the BBC or perhaps a report as a policy maker to DEFRA
Who knows but with the lack of depth of knowledge and understanding of food production whatever their purpose is it won’t be presented as a balanced view. Never mind these types can go to the supermarket to get their food who needs farmers?

I watched last night as most folks on here probably did, can any one estimate the no of hour's or days of filming needed to make a programme like panorama.
I don't think everything shown on tv happens as it appears to do on these programs

Didn't think that I'd be saying that I was glad to tb testing today, but fecking hell, what a spat you've all had. Its just a bit sad that I’ve spent 45mins reading it all!
Didn't expect to hear that spuds and carrots are going to save the planet. Can't wait to see them rip up the gorse on Bodmin Moor to feed the veggies. Won't need any irrigation.

And here's another one.
More specifically relating to soy
A kilogram of beef protein has the equivalent carbon emmisions as a passanger flying from London to new York and back.
Really? Doesn't sound plausible.
In the flight carbon emissions do they include emmisions from; building the plane, building the factories that made the plane, building the airports for the planes, not to mention the materials for the above?
Or is the passenger flight just fuel emmisions per flight(fuel) divided by number of passengers?

You could keep going down that rabbit hole….

what’s the stats for how many trees are needed to offset a transatlantic flight?

Then there’s a formula in there somehow to show how many trees = 1 flight = 1kg beef……

I bet if someone could be arsed, it would be possible to cherry pick enough of the more fanciful anti-meat, pro-oil industry emission figures to justify offsetting meat consumption by flying to America. 🤣

Seriously, there’s nothing to see here. There’s no sound science behind these claims.
