We are a 1700 acre farm near Howden, East Yorkshire. We are looking for a tractor driver to start before harvest and become part of our full time team. Initially the role will involve tractor driving tasks such as leading grain, straw, compost, some cultivations and other general farm work in the grain store and workshop. Over time the successful applicant will gain experience of the key arable operations such as fertiliser spreading, spraying, combining and drilling and will gradually take on responsibility for these key tasks. Full training will be given and, where required, formal training and qualifications will be funded (e.g. PA1, 2, 4, telehandler test). This opportunity would suit someone who is looking for the next step in their career and wants to develop into a highly skilled senior operator.
We run a small, modern fleet of equipment - New Holland CR9080 combine on tracks, Challenger 765C, Sands Vision self-propelled sprayer, Case Puma tractors, Vaderstad, Sumo, Kverneland, Kuhn. We use many of the precision farming technologies - auto-steer, variable rate seed rate and N sensor variable rate fertiliser. We are based at a modern (2010) yard with excellent grain store and workshop facilities. We keep busy year round with compost collections, mucking out rented pig sheds, leading straw, drainage works, in-house machinery maintenance and various one off projects.
We always strive to do the best job that we can, as efficiently as possible, and are looking for someone who shares that same mindset to become part of the team.
