Permit To Extract Gravel From River Bank

Anyone on here been able to obtain a permit to extract gravel from a river bank recently?

Sounds unlikely. Neighbour was allowed by EA to clean river to stop house flooding but was not allowed to remove any gravel and had to use a weed bucket!

How does your neighbours do it up stream as I been there a few years ago getting some from there

Probably been told to stop.

Problem as I see it is if gravel isn't removed in some spots it simply builds up and slows the river potentially causing more flooding.
