Permitted development for shed for vending machine

Hi all, long-time reader on the forums and decided it's time I signed up as I've always learned a lot from them.

We're looking to start milk from the farm via a vending machine out of a wooden shed. Hoping to build a shed next to the track with a few car parking spaces.

Called Pembs council today and the guy on phone reckoned it fell outside of permitted dev - is that right? From reading the guidance it seems that the function of the building isn't too important? He said as it's a shop he reckons I'll need full planning. I need to put in a form and £25 and they'll let me know in a few weeks. We have another outbuilding we could use but it's not in an ideal location.

Just wondering if anyone here has any idea on this by chance please?

Thanks

A big garden shed is all a dairy farm near me have used ,,its on the road side ,a hardcored car park what was the corner of a grass field

Yep that’s exactly what we’re thinking. Do I need permitted development for that? Guy from council seemed to think I’d need full planning which seems a bit excessive fora shed...

From my research in order to put up a shed, you will definitely need full planning permission to put up a non agricultural shed - permitted developement doesn't cover it, and the use a new barn is put to is certainly relevant.
Personally I can see no reason at all to object to your proposed use, but the council planning officials always have different ideas to us.

We had the same scenario for our honesty shop. Paid the £25, and after a little cross examination by telephone made sure that whatever we did fell within PD.
So long as everything we did was further than 25m from the road and didn't involve any new highways access, then no problems

That's tidy, do you find that the 'honesty' approach works well ?
Better than we had anticipated :) . As a low cost shop we certainly wouldn't be without it now. Beats staffing an outlet . It's open 24/7.
Of course there are some rogues. However, like all creatures, they fall into a habit and they're easily dealt with. Doesn't do their street credit much good when they get a visit from local plod about stealing artisan ice cream. :ROFLMAO:
