Robert Graham up in Dumfries and Galloway. Beltie breeder, farmer and runs RKG Landrovers

He's made a super job of it whenever he has a little time to work on it.

I asked him on FB this morning, in the light of the demise of the Defender and not being able to import Landcruiser bakkies, whether this was a commercial propistion to do them. I like the attention to detail

I know the company, he used to be the go to man in the south west for 2nd hand landy’s.
I’m glad he is finding alternatives . That old hi lux could have written a book by the look of it !

He will need to drop the "Land rovers" bit soon... word is he can supply brand new Toyotas (hence he's been pushing/praising the Land Cruiser commercial he drives, and last I heard he can get you HiLux's too)

Surely they are past that now ?

Nissan have never sorted the chassis issues. In fact I'm led to believe they've put more holes into the chassis to speed up the rotting/fatigue.

Guaranteed vehicle (short) lifespan... But they did/do a 'buyback' scheme - if MOT flags up serious chassis corrosion Nissan will give you a deal on a new vehicle... upto you if you take it

I wonder what would happen if you pumped them full of expanding foam.

Autocar this week has an article reporting that Mitsubishi are withdrawing from Europe to concentrate on Asia, so no more L200s.
No more Mercedes or VW Amaroks either.

It's a phased pull out.
You will can still buy a Mitsubishi... they are continuing to import and sell existing models.
But no new models will be brought forward for sale in Europe.

In other words, the L200 will still be for sale here in the short term... but when the next version comes out, it will not be available here

Unlikely after September, because that is about the time the new stricter emission regulations hit and why there is a new D-Max and Mercedes and VW abandoning the market. The current engine doesn't hack it and they have said that they will not develop the engines to meet the stricter standards.
They don't want to kill the market for vehicles already imported, so they aren't putting it as plainly as they could, while stocks last.
I've yet to see one of the current models on the road, even though it has been available since last Autumn, which is about nine months ago.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
