Pig Feed

Hi all, I'm Nick new to this forum wondering if anyone could give some advice. I'm based in Northern Ireland and I have 10 saddle back weaned pigs and was thinking of rearing up for sale to the butcher. I saw Irwin's pig feed is over 300 quid a ton and though I could make my own fattening mix out of 50% oat chaff and 50% flaked maize. I know the chaff won't give them any energy but I think it might be a cheap filler as I hope to feed adlib and read that maize needs an extra source of dietary fibre. Anyone had any luck with this or tried feeding silage, or tried selling pigs directly to the butcher? Thanks in advance.
Nick
