Pigs from weaning to slaughter

Can anyone tell me roughly what weight of feed a pig will eat from weaning to slaughter?
Intensive fatterning taking to 100-110kg live weight at slaughter?

We went for 1.8kg of pig nuts a day per pig (2 x OSB boars) and it took 3 months to go from 50 kg to 95kg. They also had wild meadow to roam and devour, one hell of a mess they made🤦‍♂️. So, 160kg feed gained 45 kg in weight. £80 of feed per piggy, £90 purchase cost, £380 for abattoir and butcher so £720 total cost for almost £1500 of produce mainly for me to eat🤠.

Apologies, I’m m a terrible bragger…

£1500 sounds alot , good job your eating it you never sell a whole pig for £1500
That would let me give up the day job😂.

Wouldn’t have one at a time after seeing them play and fight. One would lie down in the summer sun and the other would rub his balls in its face😂. An absolute delight to have on the farm.

What I’ve learned the last wee while is that I now have a huge amount of respect for all farmers. No days off even when life throws a curveball at you. Much respect to all you farmers👏

I get bacon locally that is from OSB pigs, It has more fat than on yours, in fact it is a lot more fat than meat which is how I like it.
I had some years ago that had little else but apples, the tastiest pork I ever had.

The pic was of trimmed boneless loin chop. The bone in loin chops have a thicker fat layer and the bacon we’re dry curing then maple cold smoking looks awesome, I’ll post a pic once it’s sliced and packaged. I do love the fat too, so we went for a fair bit of bone in skin on belly for slow cooking and then finish on the bbq😋. Also a 5kg Boston butt for a feast with friends and family.

Oh yes missed the x2 even so I have had Experience sellimg
Butchers pigs no way anyone i have ever came across would pay anything like that …… but no matter good job be nice meat .
Thanks for that.

Our future target customer are wealthy colleagues concerned about animal welfare and want locally produced meat that can visit the farm to check for themselves. When I was at the abattoir there was white commercially reared pigs in one of the pens covered in scratches up and down the length of them, the worker I spoke to said that was from competing at the trough😬 and they had probably never seen mud :(. Sells at the supermarket for around £10/kg.

Probably price around £15/kilo if I can get that next time.

Excellent good luck !! I finish 5000 a year for supermarkets and they never have scratches or anything like that when they leave here but I’ve never seen any other finisher units ….

Wow 5000! You must be a busy man. Apologies, didn’t mean to tar all big producers with the same brush, but I am keen on animal welfare and if I couldn’t ensure quality of life I would probably be a veggie… gads!
