Are dollys legal for towing loads as I thought they class the dolly as the first trailer and the main trailer as the second and in UK the second trailer cannot be loaded?

I thought to use a dolly it had to be welded closed so it's an integral part of the trailer i.e. One trailer.

If its one trailer , will i be able to tow another, or is that restricted to showmans tractors?

I don’t think a vario transmission can in any way be blamed for this or any other accident, the driver should be in control, infact I’d go as far as to say a vario transmission could actually be better, or at least I prefer my tractor with vario transmission at junctions and roundabouts but ultimately it all comes down to the driver.

Vario transmission normally is so smooth and removes one demand on the driver, leaving him free to concentrate on other areas.

Reading that, the Fendt driver should be breathing a very big sigh of relief!
I'm not sure he deserved just a warning, and so quickly, he could probably have done with sweating for a while!!! But hopefully it's taught him a lot, and if I were in his shoes I'd be very grateful to have got away so lightly!

Someone could have very easily have been killed had they been following the first outfit though. Cyclist/motorcyclist would be creamed, I think even a car would have been flattened under that lot. Nasty accident. I personally would not have driven around that roundabout that fast with so much as a grain trailer.

Video for non-facebook users can be seen here.

http://www.deadlinenews.co.uk/2018/...-two-tractors-blocks-road-with-tonnes-of-hay/

Of note- both outfits seem to be going similar speeds.

Both appear to have been strapped on securely- trailer actually bends because bales won't shift from the deck.

First trailer is stacked 4 high, but is lower overall than the other chap?
First trailer looks like it’s carrying 80x70 bales 4 high, second trailer looks like 80x90 bales, again 4 high with the top layer being only 2 wide as a binder. It may be an optical illusion but the second trailer floor could be slightly higher than the first, it’s center of gravity will certainly be higher.

The second tractor was certainly travelling faster, when it came into view most of the tractor could be seen, by the time it was leaving the roundabout it had gained enough of ground that the load on the front of the second trailer hit the load on the rear of the first, by how much I can’t tell but it must have been more than a glancing blow.

If the fendt driver has got off with a warning I think he was very lucky, I hope he learns from the experience.

Case drivers trailer looks like it was in the other lane pushing the fendt towards the centre.
I wouldn’t like to say with certainty from the camera angle but it does happen, happens a lot with lorry’s too which is why you need to be aware of where other vehicles might end up on the road, as the driver of a large vehicle the fendt driver should have realised this and given room not gone steaming up the side.

his back wheels are over the white line for sure.

Edit.... Well they certainly look like they were...

Ooooh............bikes............hmmmm now there’s a mode of transport that seems to have more than it’s fair share of pillocks.
Although I do agree with an earlier post regarding reading other vehicles “body language “ which is almost certainly more important on a bike.

I wont disagree with you on the first TC, however "Natural Selection" has a culling effect on the real nobheads. :(

I wouldn’t like to guarantee that either way with certainty, I don’t think the footage is clear enough, at least not with my eyes and there’s also the issue of camera angles which could be deceptive.
Either way I don’t think the fendt should have been where it was, had he hung back and followed the case that accident would probably never have happened.
