Does anyone have a link for some good old fashioned strong plastic feed bags? the ones from the local feed merchant are so thin now that they hardly last at all, rip and tear within days.

you can buy the woven sacks that seeds and things come in on eBay. You can get the really heavy duty ones that coal merchants use too but I can't find them now after my very quick look but I did see them when I looked not long ago. I found a bundle of old bags in an outbuilding so didn't need to buy any in the end. I knew I'd kept (hoarded) them for a reason :D
Edit: Link to the woven sacks. Best put it after i bothered to look for them again

20kg grass seed bags, are great for continual use.
yes thats what i was going to say. if you can get them, long lasting and nice to use.
they are ideal if you can get theright size, better for pouring from and filling than woven type ones which go a bit pot bellied when youre feeding out and they are stronger with no stretching when you grab them .... like the modern plastic ones do when filled with any sort of weight.(n)

That's where we got ours from. Big bundle of 50 for very little £

Fed rep. used to drop in some if we asked nicely... but he has since retired and those who have came along since just say no.

Find your nearest housed 3x milking herd. They are probably feeding Butterfat extra, those bags are almost indestructible.
