So once the current high price hits the top pools will do well again

just need the heads up when to commit to a pool and which one
If someone chooses a pool in a set time frame that performs worse than others in the same set time then you can blame the pool managers.
If the farmer chooses a pool over a set time frame, that In hindsight was a bad period to market over then the farmer has to take some blame.
I wish I had everything in a late pool this year.

Agree completely. Through pure luck I have sold better than any pool I’ve been in over the last 5 years, it is luck only. My gut tells me I should be selling all of 22 harvest now. The 25% I sold in December looks somewhat silly now.

My 2021 wheat will average out north of £270/tonne (y) but the shine is taken off by barley being about £160 and my 2022 N costing £680 when others had if for less than half that.

Im afraid my 2021 wheat sales averaged about £225. But almost all the fert was bought at £281 so although I committed too much, too early I’m satisfied enough
Cash flow requirements dictates sales here
Can’t quite remember the Range but something like between about £160 - £317

There was big membership demand for the last pool and harvest 22 for early commitment pool. Both look like terrible ideas now!
If you sold now wheat we will be £450 and rape £1000 in two months time.

The available harvest price more than covers production costs for the 22 harvest. We probably should be selling a fair chunk and locking into probably the best margins we have ever had but like others I think it could go higher still so am holding for now. Greed?
