@sjewart well done. Was that your red coilavoulin bullock?
I had to leave during the light heifers. Home to feed cattle.
Thank you @shearerlad. No, the red coilavoulin stot Willie Stevenson entered himself today. The one I bought from him in the spring was black and second in his class (overall champion won the class).

Must be doing something right - 2 years on the trot reserve live overall champion. Im no home yet.

Was not easy following the cattle sometimes with out a catalogue.

A fantastic show of cattle and full credit to you for being in the mix with all 4 that you turned out.

Thank you. Its an achievement in itself only having 4 stots and 3 out of the 4 getting tickets. We've been greedy this year that's for sure!

As above.
IMO a true show of commercial stock. It's very interesting to compare from the hoof judging tomorrow and the hook on Saturday.

I've got 5 lambs entered, 3 beltex and 2 Cheviots.

Was a great turnout of cattle. Speaking to Scotbeef men though it’s amazing how fat they ideally want them.

Be good to see them on the hook Saturday.
That's just it @DB67 they do want them fat but many of us (myself included) struggle to get the fat on them and still keep within the 420kg deadweight limit.

Yeh I know. I thought most of the cattle were fit as fiddles but BM was saying how they want them like your Angus heifer really! Cattle are going to have to have some native in them, probably on mother’s side to get them as fat as they want, whilst keeping them within weight limit.

I think a bit native will be the way forward or, if people could breed smart, but smaller, heifers hopefully the offspring will finish at lighter weights.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
